Our home base. Rickmansworth Windsurfing Club was formed in 1980 and has developed over the years into a well established club, with a wide mix of members. We're based in Rickmansworth, Herts, at the Aquadrome and have a Club Hut right on the edge of a large lake.

Ricky Windsurfing is an excellent club for windsurfers of all abilities. The lake is ideal for beginners to intermediate, whilst for the more adventurous we are a highly organised 'roving' club with regular trips to more full-on locations around the country. Some of our regular away trip haunts are Christchurch, Weymouth, Hayling, Poole and West Mersea - and regardless of the weather we always manage to have a bit of a laugh - usually involving copious quantities of food and alcohol in the evenings.

A south-westerly provides the cleanest wind as it comes in across Stoker's Lake

By car:
  • From London Road, turn LEFT into Harefield Road - London Road is a dual carriage way, you can only get to the aquadrome from one side of the road. If you're going the wrong way, just continue on to the roundabout an come back the other way!
  • Turn RIGHT just after TESCOs into what looks a residental cul-de-sac but is actually Frogmore Lane.
  • Take the bridge over the canal
  • The public car park is then on your left (Members use their key to get through the gate and park right by the hut).
  • The windsurfing hut is at the other end of the lake. Just follow the road round
By train and foot:
  • Take the underground METROPOLITAN LINE to RICKMANSWORTH.
  • Turn LEFT outside the station and walk down the hill ( Rectory Road ) to the round-a-bout.
  • Take the 2nd road off the roundabout ( Southern Bypass )
  • At the beginning of the road, on one side is a park with swings etc. Enter the park & cross the wooden foot bridge. You are now in the Aquadrome.
  • Turn RIGHT pass the Water Ski Centre & keep walking along side their lake.
  • Where the paths meet turn LEFT onto the path that takes you between two lakes. Our lake is on your Right. The RWC timber club hut is visible at the top, left hand side of the lake.
  • Where the next path crosses ( there is a car park in front of you ) turn RIGHT & walk to the end of that path where there is a green roofed building, the Dingy Base.
  • RWC is the timber building to the right of that nearest the lake.
  • Walking from Station to Club Hut should take approximately 20 mins

Free in the public car park or right by the hut.

A great learning environment for beginners and early intermediates.

Our facilities include a club house beside Aquadrome with 'all mod cons'. The club house is in a secure compound and is accessible to every club member who requests keys. Other facilities include:
